Y-Bridge Arts Festival Photo Contest ybaf2011@gmail.com SPONSOR- Zanesville Downtown Association (ZDA) 205 North 5th Street Zanesville, Ohio 43701 740-455-8282 TERM - The 2011 Y-Bridge Arts Festival Photography Contest begins August 5, 2011 at 5:00:00 p.m. and ends August 15, 2011 12:00 p.m. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to the Official Rules and warrants that his or her entry complies with all requirements set out in the Official Rules. This is a skill based contest and chance plays no part in the determination of winners. Prizes - One (1) Grand Prize winner will win a cash prize of $100 and two (2) honorable mention finalist will win cash prizes of $50 each. Photo Contest Terms and Conditions: All contestants must be 18 years of age at the time they enter the contest or must submit a parent release form if they are under the age of 18. All photos entered in the contest should adhere to ethics of cultural sensitivity. If recognizable people are portrayed, the subjects must have given the photographer permission or "informed consent" to have the photograph taken. The spirit of this photo contest should be in keeping with Y-Bridge Arts Festivals spirit of Art, Artisans, Music and Fun. Keep in mind that all photographs, once submitted, become the property of Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce to use as seen fit. Contest entries are often selected to appear in Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce and its entities print and online publications and marketing initiatives and must agree to following terms and conditions. By submitting a photo, you will be asked to agree to give the Z-M Chamber of Commerce non-exclusive rights to reproduce your work to be used and reproduced in Z-M Chamber of Commerce publications, on the Web site, or in any other Z-M Chamber of Commerce’s marketing and media projects in all media in perpetuity. You will still retain the right to publish your work in other media and to further transfer rights to this work to other parties. You must also agree to only submit original photographs that were taken during the 2011 Y-Bridge Arts Festival. Please note: You must submit a release waiver in order for your photos to be considered. Photo guidelines: Uploaded photos must be in JPEG format, for example, with a file name ending in ".jpg" or ".jpeg" or ".jpe" -- without the quotes. Submitted photos must be high-resolution, 300 ppi images with at least 2400 pixels in the longest dimension, but not to exceed 6,000,000 total pixels (for example, 3000 pixels by 2000 pixels). This means that photo file sizes should be between 4 MB and slightly under 6 MB. Entry Rules & Guidelines
How We Judge Each photo is judged on its own merit. Therefore, there may be multiple winning photos from the same photographer. However, only one prize is awarded to each winning contestant. The committee also reserves the right to include all 'first-tier' photos in the Honorable Mention category which is not limited to a certain number. This policy ensures that all 'first-tier' photos are recognized. Submissions Up to 3 photographs from the 2011 Y-Bridge Arts Festival may be submitted. Submissions are now accepted online by email ybaf2011@gmail.com. RELEASES If the photograph contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the photograph, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photograph, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the photograph in the manner set forth in these Official Rules without additional compensation. If any person appearing in any photograph is under the age of majority in their state/province/territory of residence the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release. Upon Sponsor's request, each entrant must be prepared to provide (within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of Sponsor's request) a signed release from all persons who appear in the photograph submitted, and/or from the owner of any material that appears in the photograph entry, authorizing Sponsor and its licensees ("Authorized Parties") to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known. All releases must be in the form provided by Sponsor. Failure to provide such releases upon request may result in disqualification at any time during the Contest and selection of an alternate winner. Similarly, upon Sponsor's request, each entrant must be prepared to provide (within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of Sponsor's request) a signed written license from the copyright owner of any sculpture, artwork, or other copyrighted material that appears in the photograph entry, authorizing any Authorized Party to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known. All releases must be in the form provided by Sponsor. Failure to provide such releases upon request may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Finally, upon Sponsor's request, each entrant must be prepared to provide (within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of Sponsor's request) a signed written license from the owner of any private property included in the photograph entry, authorizing any Authorized Party to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known. All releases must be in the form provided by Sponsor. Failure to provide such releases upon request may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. |
